Coconut Chutney
Ingredients
Coconut 1/2nos
Tamarind small lime size ball soaked in water
Dried red chillies 8nos(can increase or decrease )
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds 1tsp
Oil 1and 1/2tbsp
Hing 1/8tsp
Turmeric 1/4tsp
Method
Make small pieces of coconut.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
When they start to pop add red chillies and hing and mix it.
Remove it from heat and let it cool.
Grind the mustard seeds and red chillies first and then to it add the coconut pieces,tamarind.salt,turmeric.
Grind all of them together.Add water if needed(it is better to add as less water as possible).
Instead of using fresh coconut ,frozen grated coconut can be used which will be really easy to grind.Do not use the dried coconut powder.
This is an authentic andhra dish which goes very well with rice.Try mixing it with hot rice and ghee.If you like it spicy add oil instead of ghee.
