Moong Dal Halwa
Ingredients
1/4kg moong dal(green)
1cup ghee
1cup sugar
1litre milk
100g mawa
1/4tsp saffron
1/2tsp saffron color
2-3cardamoms
small piece of cinnamon
2-3 cloves
Method
Soak dal overnight,wash and remove the husk.Grind coarsely.
Heat ghee in a deep pan and fry cardamoms,cloves and cinnamon.
Reduce heat and add ground dal.Fry till golden brown.
Add milk and when the milk thickens add sugar and saffron.
Fry till ghee seperates.
Add mawa,mix well and remove from heat.
Garnish with almonds.
