Pesarattu

Ingredients:
Whole moong dal split moong dal but with skin on it 2cups
Salt to taste
Green chillies 1/4cup chopped
Ginger 2tbsps finely chopped
Cilantro or coriander 1/2cup chopped
Onions 1/2 cup chopped
Jeera 2tbsps
Oil 1/2cup

Method:
Soak moong dal for 3to 4 hrs.Grind it by adding water.

The consistency of the batter should be like that of a pancake batter.(not too thin or not too thick).

Add salt and jeera to it and mix well.

Heat a nonstick dosa pan(heat should be on medium high).

When it is hot pour little batter and spread it just like you do for dosa.

Then add little bit of all the chopped ingredients on the top and press them down with the spatula.

Add oil with a spoon on the edges of the pesarattu .

After 1 min turn the pesarattu the other side and leave it for sometime .

Pesarattu should be brown on one side and the onions should be in light brown in color on the other side.This is the indication that it is done properly.

Serve it hot with ginger chutney and upma.
