Red Bell Pepper Chutney
Ingredients
Red bell pepper 1nos
Tomatoes 2nos
Green chillies 5nos (can add less or more according to your spice)
Tamarind pulp(thick)1tsp
Salt to taste
Turmeric 1/4th tsp
Cilantro 1/4cup chopped
Seasoning
Oil 1and1/2tbsps
Mustard seeds 1/2tsp
Urad dal 1tsp
Jeera 1/4tsp
Hing a pinch
Method
Cut the bell pepper and tomotoes into pieces(the size of the pieces doesnt matter).
Heat oil in a pan and add all the seasoning ingredients to it.
When the mustard seeds start to pop add the the bell pepper and tomato pieces to it.
Mix it and add green chillies,tamarind pulp,salt and turmeric to it.mix all together well.
Cover it and leave it for 5 to 10 mins on medium heat.
The vegetable pieces will become soft and if there is water given out by the vegetables then uncover the pan and increase the heat .keep mixing it so that it will not get burnt.do not make it dry.
When excess of water is evaporated and the mixtur is thick ,remove from heat and let it cool down.
Grind the whole mixture along with cilantro.
This chutney can be eaten with dosa,rice or even roti.
You can use it as spread on sandwiches.
