Tomato Chutney(2)
Ingredients
Tomatoes (big) 3nos
Til(nuvvulu)or sesame seeds 1tbsp
Jeera 1tsp
Dhaniya seeds 1tbsp
Curry leaves 6to 8nos
Salt to taste
Turmeric 1/4tsp
Cilantro 1/4cup chopped
Garlic cloves 3nos
Green chilllies 4nos
Oil 1tbsp
Method
Heat oil in a pan and add jeera,dhaniya seeds and sesame seeds to it.
Add the garlic cloves and curry leaves too.
When the seeds become light brown or when the sesame seeds start to crackle add the cut tomatoes green chilles,salt and turmeric to it.
Cover it for 5 to 10mins.remove the lid and let the excess water evaporate*.
Remove from heat and cool it.
Grind the mixture along with cilantro.
This can be eaten with dosa,idli and rice.
*The consistency of the chutney depends on the water left in the mixture.Leave a little bit of water and dont evaporate all of the water and make it dry.
